So unless you accept cookies supplied by FMG, you won't be able to use the service. The only way around not accepting cookies from us is to delete your account.
Tracking & IP Addresses
When you login to your account your IP address will be stored in our database. This is common and allows us to ban people/spammers via IP address to protect the community better. It also links an account to IP addresses, which makes your account safer as we can more easily spot if your account has been hacked if it is reported as such.
We use Google Analytics to analyse site data. Google do record visitor IP addresses, but these are not viewable to us in our analytics panel, so we cannot track your movements on the site.
Personal Data & Details
When you join FMG, you are asked to supply and name (not displayed on the site publicly), and email address, username (displayed on the site publicly), and your date of birth (not displayed on the site publicly).
We need your date of birth to run a legal social network. You have to be 13 years or older to open and account on social media many parts of the world, and we follow those principles.
Your username will be displayed on the site, so please make sure that it's not offensive. Also ensure that it's not personal, if you don't want to be recognised by your real name. Also, if you use that username to login to other accounts, be careful as using the same username across multiple accounts is a security risk.
We only store the personal data that you entered during registration, plus any personal information you enter in your profile, or during your interactions on the site.
You can download your personal data from within your FMG account at any time. Simply click on the "your information" link under profile settings, and you can download a complete history of your activity.
If you open a support ticket, the email address you supply, and the details you supply within the ticket will be kept until your problem is resolved. We will then close the ticket and delete the associated data.
Log file information is automatically reported by your browser each time you access a web page. When you use FMG, our servers automatically record certain information that your web browser sends whenever you visit any website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.
Advertising and statistics
Our advertising platform and statistical analysis tools are internal. This means that we don't share any data with third-party advertising or statistical analysis companies.
Paying for services on FMG
If you upgrade your account to a supporter account, or you pay to advertise on FMG, we will collect payment through PayPal, using the details you supply.
Other than the normally retained information on PayPal, no financial details are retained by us.
Legal Requests For Information
We won't just hand over your data to anyone who asks. We would require a court order within the relevant jurisdiction to comply with such a request.
Although we will cooperate with recognised national law enforcement agencies, we will not share your personal data unless legally required to do so.
Data Security & Storage
We do everything we can reasonably do to protect the data you supply. We use SSL encryption to run the website, and all data sent over the network is encrypted and sent using HTTPS.
Data backups occur daily, and are backed up to multiple locations, to protect our data and ensure we can recover and get the site back up and running if problems occur.
We uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to FMG, or guarantee that your information on the service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
Deleting Your Personal Data
If you wish to delete your personal data, you will be required to close your FMG account.
You can close your FMG account from within the account itself. From within your profile settings, your account, and all associated personal data will be deleted from our servers.
